DivERS implements a structured method throughout the hiring process to enhance job quality by removing biases
Discrimination, whether intentional or not, tends to happen in the early stages of hiring when candidates are to be selected primarily based on their qualifications. DivERS takes a systematic approach to improve the quality of hiring by removing biases related to factors such as gender and nationality.
They do so by letting the early stages of the recruitment process go through the DivERS platform, allowing recruiters to get a bias free assessment of the candidates.
In 2019, DivERS’ initial idea took shape during an Innovation Fund Denmark initiative, driven by the observation of a gender imbalance in technical positions compared to balanced university graduates. In 2020, the first prototype was showcased at DTU. The company officially launched in Lyngby, Denmark, in 2021, co-founded by Assistant Prof. Sara Shafiee and Senior Data Scientist Alireza Taghizadeh, winning the Best Digital Startup Award at Venture Cup Denmark. The cloud-based DivERS application was released in 2022 and showed promising results during testing for a PhD position at DTU and a UX designer role at Liva Healthcare.
