DemensAI uses AI to detect early stage dementia

In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that 55 million people worldwide suffer from dementia, with 75 percent going undiagnosed. Danish startup DemensAI, founded by Anton Boldrup Birn, Laurine Dargaud, and Abhista Partal, aims to address this issue. They developed an artificial intelligence (AI) system to enhance early detection of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, offering a cost-effective and digital alternative to traditional diagnosis methods.
With promising initial test results showing 87 percent accuracy, DemensAI aims to revolutionize healthcare by integrating telemedicine solutions into the diagnosis and monitoring of dementia, potentially saving both time for physicians and costs for the healthcare system.

The startup, nurtured through the DTU X-Tech mentorship program, won the main competition in 2023, securing a prize of 100,000 DKK. Later the same year DemensAI joined the incubator program at DTU Skylab, and recieved 1 million kr. in soft funding from Innofounder.
